The trophy is named after the world renowned architect Louis Isadore Kahn whose designs evolved from the deep study and analysis of the cultural background and the context. This trophy organized in conjunction with UNESCO aims to shed light on the neglected built heritage of India through their documentation and architectural analysis on the basis of a specific theme given by UNESCO. Other than contributing to the documented heritage database, this trophy enables students to experience firsthand the richness of Indian heritage and gives direction to the debate regarding its conservation and preservation. The trophy also gives the students an opportunity to learn the process involved in measured drawing and the documentation of various aspects of architecture.
